Full or Complete Dentures

A Full or Complete Denture is a replacement for missing teeth. People who have lost all of or a majority of their teeth are candidates for complete or full dentures. These dentures can replace significant tooth loss on either of the two arches or both arches of the mouth.  The denture teeth are made out of porcelain or acrylic and held together by an acrylic base. Our goal is to restore your smile so that you can start to fully enjoy your quality of life.  Call us today at 864-647-9000 to schedule your free consultation!

If you suffer from a severe gag reflex , but need to restore your smile with a complete upper denture or you are having difficulty holding your lower denture in place, you may be a candidate for implant retained dentures, called an over denture or a fixed, implant retained prosthesis.

Immediate Dentures

Immediate dentures are full or complete dentures that you go home with on the same day, immediately following the removal of your teeth.  If you need to have your teeth extracted, an immediate denture may be the best solution for you.  You do not have to wait several weeks for you mouth to heal after your tooth extractions or feel embarrassed or self-conscious for two or three weeks while your dentures are being made.

Immediate dentures may be the best solution for you if the remaining teeth in your mouth must be extracted.  An immediate denture will help to restore your smile and comfort and will allow you to avoid feeling embarrassed or self-conscious without teeth.  Dr. James Hicks and your team at SC Cosmetic & Implant Dentistry will prepare for your immediate denture in advance of your appointment to have your teeth extracted.  They will take necessary impressions, plan and design your denture with the laboratory and have your immediate denture ready on the day you arrive for your appointment.  This means that you will have your new teeth when you leave our office, without having to wait weeks for your gums to heal.  Over time, as your mouth heals and your gums begin to reshape, your immediate denture may become loose.  A denture reline may be necessary to correct this, and in time, it is possible that a replacement denture may be necessary.

Whether you need complete dentures, partial dentures, or a replacement or repair of your old dentures, you can expect comfortable, natural looking results at SC Cosmetic & Implant Dentistry.  We are just a phone call away!

Partial Dentures

If you are only missing some of your teeth, and your remaining teeth are healthy or can be repaired with restorative dentistry, partial dentures may be the best option for you.  Partial dentures are custom fit to your mouth to replace missing teeth as opposed to replacing all of the teeth in your upper or lower arch.  Partial dentures can replace one or more missing teeth.

If you are missing one or more teeth, your chewing and biting may begin to shift the teeth in your mouth.  Your teeth may move to adjust or fill the "gap" created by your missing tooth or teeth.  A partial denture keeps the remaining teeth in place and helps prevent further shifting, giving you the confidence of having a healthy, beautiful smile.  Call us today at 864-647-9000 to schedule your free consultation with Dr. James Hicks
